Breaking in Your Glove

I just caught a quick things on MLB Network, where Harold Reynolds showed me how he breaks in his gloves. Here is the step-by-step.

1. Find a glove that fits (less obvious than it should be)
2. Don't roll the pocket. The pocket needs to be open the way you want to field the ball. (Great advice. I certainly noted this) Harold used three baseballs. He took two side-by-side to hold the pocket open, and a third toward the palm.
3. Wrap tape around the glove to hold the pocket in the desired position.
4. Dunk the glove in a bucket of water. (This is not something I've heard much about) He said to leave it in the water for 3-4 minutes.
5. Remove the glove (Make sure you have a towel so Mom doesn't get mad (Harold's advice, not mine)).
6. Adjust a wire hanger so you can put it through the glove. Hang it to dry overnight.
7. The next day coat the pocket with glove oil or Vaseline to firm the leather.

Thanks Harold and MLB Network.
