BOLT: Allen Iverson

It was announced today that Allen Iverson, who has been on personal leave to attend to his ailing daughter (illness has been undisclosed as far as I have heard), will not be returning to the Philadelphia 76ers at any point this season. Rumors have arisen putting AI out at a nightclub while on this personal time, which hopefully are not true. And if they are true, I suppose this blogger can forgive him the need for an escape during a troubling time. Irregardless, it seems far too apparent that today, or retroactively February 20, 2010 marks the end of Allen Iverson's esteemed NBA career. It is a troubling way to see this career end. I was certainly very happy to see Allen return to his true home in Philadelphia after struggling through stays with Detroit and Memphis these past two seasons. I hoped that he could finish the year admirably and enjoy a well-deserved send off into NBA history. From his 1994 enrolling at Georgetown to these last moments, he has truly been a joy to watch play basketball, and sometime for other reasons to see in front of a camera. The Bolt thanks Iverson for what he has brought to Sports.
